Emergency Relief

Anglicare Victoria

This program assists families and individuals who are on low incomes and face crises such as illness, family violence, homelessness and family breakdown.

People able to access these services:

People living in Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, Wallan, Kal Kallo, Mickleham and Yuroke who have a healthcare card.

Available Monday and Thursday by appointment only. To book an appointment call 0408 129 590 at 9am.

If you live outside these areas we may be able to connect you to similar services in your area.


Financial management

Brotherhood of St Laurence

The Brotherhood’s Saver Plus program is the largest matched savings and financial education program of its kind in Australia.

Saver Plus is a free 10-month savings program, offered in partnership with ANZ, which supports families to meet the costs of school. Families set and manage a savings goal over 10 months, which ANZ then matches, dollar for dollar, up to $500. Families also benefit from the financial education program MoneyMinded which provides helpful tips and information for managing money effectively.

People able to access these services:

To access this program you must:

  • Have a Health Care Card
  • Be over 18
  • Have a regular income from work, and 
  • Have a child at school or attend vocational education yourself.

MoneyMinded is a financial education program delivered in partnership with ANZ and the Brotherhood of St Laurence at Connections@Craigieburn. The program, delivered both as part of Saver Plus and as a stand alone program, helps people make informed decisions about the use and management of their money. Community workshops and facilitator training are both run at the centre.


Financial Counselling

Lentara UnitingCare

Lentara UnitingCare offers financial counselling to people experiencing financial difficulties to help them become financially stable and independent. Counselling services are free and confidential.

People able to access these services:

Live in the cities of Hume or Moreland

Housing Support Service

VincentCare

VincentCare targets homelessness and disadvantage.

Services at Connections@Craigieburn include the following:

  • assessment of housing and support needs
  • early intervention support for people to prevent homelessness
  • advocacy and financial assistance to prevent eviction from private rental
  • providing information about housing options.

People able to access these services:

People at risk of homelessness, residing in Hume.
