Counselling Services

Counselling is available for:

  • people affected by gambling
  • people affected by alcohol and other drugs
  • refugees who have experienced torture or trauma
  • victims/survivors of sexual assault


Gambler’s Help

Gambler’s Help therapeutic counselling services are available for people affected by gambling. The service is free and is available face-to-face or over the phone. To learn more you can visit our page on gambling services.

People able to access these services:

Those affected by gambling (individuals, their partners, family members and others) who live in Hume.

For further information please call Gambler's Help North & North Western Intake on 1300 133 445.

If you live outside Hume we may be able to connect you to similar services in your area.


North and west metro alchohol and other drug service

Alcohol and other drug (AOD) assessment and counselling is for young people and adults affected by drugs or alcohol. We work with you to create a treatment plan and support you through the treatment.

People able to access these services:

Clients are assessed over the phone. Please call 1800 700 514.


Foundation House

Foundation House provides counselling, advocacy, outreach and group sessions for refugees who have experienced torture or other traumatic events.

People able to access these services:

People from refugee backgrounds in Victoria who have experienced torture or other traumatic events in their country of origin or while fleeing those countries.


Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA House)

The Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA House) is part of the Royal Women's Hospital. It is funded by the State Government to provide medium-term counselling and advocacy support to victim/survivors of recent and/or past sexual assault, on a 24 hours a day basis.

People able to access these services:

Survivors of recent and/or past sexual assault.
